Stiklings is a non-profit organisation that brings circus arts instruction education and performances to people around the world.
Based in Shropshire in the UK, with an office in Stoke-on-Trent and Sheffield, we travel nationally and internationally, with an entire circus, massive lorry and buckets of energy!
As well as providing circus workshops and performances we make and sell accessible circus equipment and create bespoke events.
All profits from these go to providing our services to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access them.
Jamie, Gina, Peter and Jules were brought together through Performers Without Borders whilst volunteering with refugees in Greece.
Jamie has taught at circus schools across the world, lectured at international seminars, worked as a Circademics research assistant, volunteered with a number of charities, with one goal in mind. More Smiles for everyone.
He’s trained as a Social-Arts practitioner at East15 Acting school and taken a number of further development training including; accessibility teacher training at the NCCA, Holistic circus therapy with Jill Maglio, Functional Juggling with Craig Quat and countless workshops around the world at circus conventions.
He’s passionate about working with people who have additional needs; he’s developed new pedagogy and has shared this to other practitioners. Since high school Jamie began working with people with additional needs and has continued as a care worker whenever his schedule allowed.
His favourite colour is Magenta because “it doesn’t exist”
Fun fact, Jamie has been described by more than one person as “their imaginary friend”.

Gina comes from a musical and theatrical background and has been on the stage from a very early age. Gina worked for many years in childcare and in the adult care industry, whilst training and performing Circus on the side, and wanted to find a way to combine both of these passions, helping people and circus!
She started volunteering with No Holds Barred in Brighton 2016, teaching disabled adults aerial circus skills, the one phrase that stuck with her was
‘Thank you for not treating me like a piece of glass, I’ve had it my whole life and this was so refreshing’.
Gina then decided to take her circus to the next level and did a 2-year Diploma in Circus and Physical theatre at Circomedia in Bristol! After graduating she went on a 5-month volunteer tour around India with Performers Without Borders, believing that she had found her calling of social circus Gina then went on two more PWB volunteer tours working with refugee youth in Calais, France and in Samos, Greece on a partnership residency with the Flying Seagulls in 2019.
In between volunteering she won best UK circus event of the year award 2019 when running events for Yardarts in Bristol. Gina then became a Tour coordinator for PWB India 2020 and the social media manager for the charity, sadly the tour was cut short due to you know what… Then she founded Stiklings with Jamie and Peter in 2021 in the hopes to bring more circus joy to those who need it most!
Peter Duncan is an old circus trainer – he was one of the founders of Circus Eruption in 1992, and has been playing around with Circus since 1985.
With a strong sense of social justice, and skills in teaching and facilitating Peter has been involved in designing and running lots of training for Circus Tutors in Social Circus Settings.
A veteran of Youth Circus camps for UK Youth Circus Network, and Circusworks in places as diverse as a field in Ross on Wye and Edinburgh Festival, A church in Sheffield and Riverside TV Studios London.
Peter has also helped to set up several UK wide tutors conferences – Cardiff, and Bristol the most recent.
EYCO (European Youth Circus Organisation) has a range of projects and Peter has contributed to Masterclasses on Juggling, Using Games, Work with Refugees, and projects on Assistants Sharing Knowledge, and Learner Centred Learning.
With his long experience Peter is in demand online to facilitate conferences, and support Circus groups in evaluating plans, strengthening boards, and building capacity amongst trainers.
He is still active in face-to-face training, working in schools in North Wales, Cheshire parks (Home educators) and University of 3rd Age.
He is proud to be a director of the amazing Stiklings and looks forward to seeing where the CIC goes!
Jules began her journey as a Musical Theatre performer, graduating in 2015. She was not a ‘natural’ mover but all things dance and movement quickly became a passion of hers. Jules first found circus (quite accidentally) later that year at the London Juggling Club: Spinning@.
Finding circus was a dream come true – the extra limbs she never knew she was missing. In 2017, she won the Silver Award for British Young Juggler of the Year competition, which propelled her further into the world of circus. She discovered a passion for circus arts, going on to teach and perform across the UK, various countries across Europe, and in Bahrain, India and Kenya. In her mind, there is a unique form of communication that circus offers, shattering all sorts of barriers. For her, it is the most universal language of all.
Jules first started volunteering for Performers Without Borders (PWB) on the 10 year anniversary tour to India in 2018. The following year, Jules joined Peter Duncan, Gina Disney and Jamie Moore and the Flying Seagulls at the refugee camp in Samos – which was both a life-changing journey and phenomenal preparation to coordinate the Kenya 2020 PWB tour. In 2019 Jules also graduated from the Circomedia MA Directing for Circus course. During her time there she directed her first circus theatre show which premiered at Bread and Roses theatre in London.
Jules’ ethos is underpinned by a desire to harness the power of circus to share stories and build powerful connections. She aims to embrace the reality that everything is a work in progress. That is to say that perfection is unattainable, but the journey as we strive towards it is both educational and beautiful.
